St Andrew’s Church

St. Andrew’s Church is committed to serving and supporting the school in whatever way it can.

There is a wonderful opportunity for working together in partnership through the sharing of our church building with the school. This is a really useful resource especially for concerts and celebration events where all the latest audio visual equipment can be used by the school.

Church-School Partnership

Local clergy from a range of churches, together with the DCFW, lead Wednesday worship in the church for the whole school at 9.00am. Parents and friends of the school community are welcome to join us for this. A number of our governors are committed members of St. Andrew’s Church.

The church vicar joins in with regular school trips such as the Y5 and Y6 residential trip, as well as additional curriculum trips. 

The church has a team of clergy (vicar, curate, lay ministers) who assist the school in leading Christian acts of worship. Volunteers from the church join with another local church to run a lunchtime club called Jesus and Me Club. 

The church and school leadership regularly meet together in 'Church School Partnership' Meetings. As part of this, it was agreed that the school would contribute to regular Family Services on Sundays at church. This has led to many families and children attending church services more regularly.  

In Autumn 2026, we will be piloting a new Growing Faith family after-school club, which we are running in partnership with St Andrew's Church and the Chichester Diocese Education and Children & Families Teams. This ten-week pilot programme has been developed to help strengthen the partnership between school, church and home. We aim to support families in exploring faith together, discussing big questions, and building relationships within our school and church community. 

 The school and church support joint charities including Love your Neighbour, Easter Team Crawley, Crawley Open House and much more.

Working with Kaana school

Maureen and Anna came to school from the church to talk more about ways the school can support Kaana school in Uganda. We have completed fundraising for a kitchen and are now raising money to buy fruit trees.

Whilst the Church seeks to safeguard the Christian ethos of the school and the reputation of the Diocese, we do not bring about any influence to do with the day to day management and running of the school. We believe this should be left to the educational professionals to decide how best to proceed.
