At St Andrew’s, we are more than just a school—we are a welcoming and supportive community, often referred to as ‘Team St Andrew’s.’ With 210 wonderful children in the school, a committed staff, and a strong Church of England ethos, we strive to provide excellence in teaching, learning, and whole-child development. Our children are curious, enthusiastic, and eager to learn, and we work in close partnership with our families to support every child.
This is an exciting time to join us as we are launching a brand-new nursery provision in September 2025! You will be part of shaping this new phase of our school’s journey, helping to lay the foundations for high-quality early education and creating a vibrant, nurturing environment from the very beginning. Our nursery will initially offer 20 part-time of full-time session that will reflect the school hours.
Our Early Years team is dedicated, creative, and committed to nurturing each child’s development through purposeful play, exploration and meaningful learning experiences. We have excellent provision for children with SEND and are proud of our inclusive ethos and well-established support systems.
The Role
Position: EYFS - Nursery Class Teacher
Location: St Andrew’s CE Primary School, Weald Drive, Crawley, RH10 6NU
(Conveniently located approx. 30 minutes from the A27/A23 junction near Brighton)
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Main Pay Scale (plus Fringe) – Experienced teachers strongly encouraged to apply
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking an experienced, committed, and nurturing EYFS practitioner who is passionate about early childhood education and child development. The ideal candidate will be:
✅ Skilled in delivering an inspiring and engaging EYFS curriculum
✅ Knowledgeable about child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
✅ Experienced in working with nursery-aged children between the ages of 2 and 4
✅ Committed to fostering independence, curiosity, and a love of learning in young children
✅ Excited to be part of a new nursery provision and help shape its future
✅ Able to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team
✅ Reflective and open to ongoing professional development
✅ Supportive of our Christian ethos and inclusive values
✅ Experienced in working with children with a range of needs, including SEND

Applicants who are invited to interview will also be asked to participate in a short task, which will involve reading a story of your choice to a group of children in our Year R setting.

References will be taken up for all shortlisted applicants prior to the interview so that any relevant issues arising can be discussed. Shortlisted applicants will also need to complete and return the Shortlisted Candidate Information Form.
